I am a physical therapy student and was reviewing this powerpoint for a pediatrics class. I was wondering about slide 28, which reads that "patients whith ABS should be monitored regularly until skeletal maturity is reached, because of the potential for recurrence of the rings and for secondary contractures that may develop." I was under the impression that the bands are only formed in-utero and therefore, how would the rings reoccur? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
